This journal is stab bound using soft mustard colored handmade paper and has 14 strings of beads, some of them handmade. They are mixed with black pony beads. Some of the handmade beads are also wrapped with gold threads and they are all protected with three coats of varnish. The string knotting or stitching cords are crossed at the back of the book as shown in on of the photos
The paper is fairly thick and has a lovely velvety feel to it. Pale mustard color. The paper is also smooth on one side and textured at the back so you may want to write on one side only.
The Chinese silk cover fabric is red with woven in oriental motifs in gold and green. The motifs are mostly of flowers and peacock feathers. I specially love the beads on this journal because they are just gorgeous and a perfect match for the cover fabric.
